get across (pass on (e.g. message, information)/ explain/ explain (something)/ to convey (e.g. message, information). Could you get your idea across?/Could you please explain what you mean?

odejść (wyjść/uciec). Musiałem wyjść z lekcji, bo nie czułem się dobrze.//Złodziej uciekł.

get away (get out/ go away/escape/ walk away/leave/run away).). I had to get away from the class because I wasn't feeling well./ I had to leave the lesson because I didn't feel well./ The thief got away./ The thief escaped.

zabrać się do czegoś (np. pracy). Cieszę się, że w końcu zabrałeś się do pracy.

get down (to something) = (get down to something (e.g. work)/ get to something(e.g. work). I'm glad you finally got down to work./ I'm glad you finally got to work.

wyzdrowieć (dochodzić do siebie (po chorobie lub ciężkim doświadczeniu); otrząsnąć się). Zajęło mi rok, by wyzdrowieć po wypadku./Cieszę się, że otrząsnęła się z tego.

get over (recover, recover (after illness or severe experience); shake off. It took me a year to get over the accident./ It took me a year to recover from an accident./ I'm happy she got over it./ I'm glad she shook it off.

przebrnąć przez coś (zrealizować, skończyć); przejść przez coś (np. przez trudny okres). Nareszcie przebrnęłam przez tę książkę./Czas po jego śmierci był dla mnie ciężki, ale przetrwałem to.

to get through something (to accomplish, finish); go through something (e.g. a difficult period). I finally got through this book./ The time after his death was hard for me but I got through it./ The time after his death was hard for me, but I survived.
